1966 Chevy C10 Custom Sound System
We had a customer who came in by referral from a one of our repeat customers at Audio Express in Houston. He brought his fully restored 1966 Chevy C10 looking to add a full custom sound system. We installed custom kick panels loaded with a set of JL Audio C3650 6.5-inch component speakers. They feature oversized 1.2-inch voice coils, mineral-filled polypropylene cones and injection-molded polymer baskets on the mid-subs with 1-inch silk dome tweeters. A custom one-off sub enclosure was built to house a JL Audio 12TW3D4 12 inch subwoofer, and a set of JL Audio C2690X 6×9-inch three-way coaxial speakers. Their clean, dynamic sound brings sparkling high-frequency detail, smooth mid-range and powerful mid-bass, thanks to real silk dome tweeters and precision-engineered woofer designs. The TW3 sub delivers a powerful combination of shallow mounting depth and excursion capability because the patented thin-line technology compresses the architecture using a “concentric tube” structure built into the injection-molded cone body. It is all powered by a JL Audio HD900/5, 5-channel amplifier hidden under the center console. Controlling this state-of-the-art system is a period-correct RetroSound Laguna radio, which includes Bluetooth, USB and AUX input, while retaining the factory look. Being able to have the truck for a week made all the difference in the detail of the install. Having a job with this much attention to detail, we always recommend customers to leave their vehicles with us, so we can deliver everything we promised and more. The owner was blown away by his build. So much so, he’s dropping off his ‘64 Impala SS so we can do the same magic on it. The 1966 Chevy C10 custom sound system installation was done by the professionals at Audio Express 7039 Southwest Freeway Houston, TX 77074 713-541-1111. We’re your custom sound system experts.
