2003 Ford Mustang Custom Sound System
Arizona has to be the best place to enjoy a convertible vehicle. That’s why the owner of this 2003 Ford Mustang brought it to our Chandler location for a complete custom sound system make-over. His son had started work on a project to replace the back seat with sound. Since, as the owner said, the top will never be up on this car, he wanted more power all the way around. He has heard stereo systems in many other convertibles, and disliked the sound after the top was put down. He wants to get in and cruise with good sound. We started with a custom enclosure for the Kicker 12 inch CWR woofer he had — including an embossed Mustang logo. The CompR subwoofer is a dual voice coil design with a magnet structure that reliably delivers huge power handling and control. UniPlat back plate and vented pole piece serve as one solid unit, providing excellent thermal management. He also had a set of JL Audio C2650 component car speakers which we used for the rear sound stage. An additional pair of the same JL Audio component speakers was used for the front of the car as well. The Evolution C2 systems deliver sparkling high-frequency detail, smooth mid-range and powerful mid-bass, thanks to real silk dome tweeters and long linear excursion woofer designs. The component mid-woofers feature mineral-filled polypropylene cones and stamped steel frames. The C2 component tweeters are built with 0.75-inch silk dome diaphragms that deliver smooth, extended response, on and off axis. Powering the system is a JL Audio Amp XD700/5v2 controlled from a Kenwood KDCX702 AM/FM/CD receiver for seamless Bluetooth integration as well as SiriusXM radio and USB capability. The 2003 Ford Mustang Custom Sound System was completed by the crew at Audio Express 7200 West Chandler Blvd #10 Chandler, AZ 85226 480-961-0962. We can recommend and install a custom sound system to fit your vehicle and budget.
