4×10 speakers have been around for over 50 years. One of the longest running sizes in GM vehicles, 4x10 speakers could be found in the dash of 1967 Impala or behind the seats of a 1980 Chevy pickup truck. The 1990’s Suburban and Tahoe’s had them in the ceiling all the way at the back of the truck. Very few manufacturers still make 4×10 speakers, but Audio Express/Quality Auto sound as always has you covered. We have nice drop in factory replacements from Kenwood, and we also offer adapters for certain vehicles to allow you to fit a 6×9 speaker where the original 4×10 speaker was. This speaker can produce good vocals and nice clarity, but due to the oblong size is limited on the bass response it can reproduce. Most factory speakers are made out of poor quality components, like paper cones and foam surrounds. These types of material quickly degrade as they get older and are exposed to the elements. Our aftermarket replacement speakers have polypropylene cones and rubber or high density foam surroundings that will give you years of enjoyment. If you have worn out factory speakers in your classic GM vehicle, come see a car audio installation specialist at Audio Express/ Quality Auto sound and we’ll get you the speaker you need!
