JL Audio HD1200/1 Subwoofer Mono Amp
knows that making a small amplifier is great, of course… but not if power and sound quality are sacrificed. This is why they're engineering team focused on achieving world-class fidelity first, and then on making the JL Audio HD1200/1 subwoofer mono amp amazingly powerful, efficient and small. These efforts led to a remarkable switching amplifier technology called Single Cycle Control™, which allows all of these goals to be achieved. Behind the HD1200/1's removable security cover, you will find studio-grade signal processing with fully variable crossover filters. Also included are the noise-killing, highly flexible differential-balanced inputs
JL Audio Design
Their most power amplifier operates off their advanced Single-Cycle Control switching design and R.I.P.S. technology. It delivers 1200 Watts of clean power into any impedance between 1.5 and 4 Ω. This gives you the highest degree of flexibility in designing your subwoofer system. The tight power supply regulation keeps distortion down and maximizes the bass quality. While primarily addressed to subwoofer applications, the JL Audio HD1200/1 is a wide-range amplifier and can also be used to drive high-performance mid-range speaker systems. This amplifier features a brushed aluminum finish with black powder-coated cast alloy heat sinks and bottom panel. A black powder-coated, gasketed cover is also provided to protect the controls.
Most car audio amplifiers rely on big lumps of metal that do a good job of storing heat, but not such a great job of getting rid of it. RealSink™-equipped JL Audio amplifiers feature real cast-alloy heat sinks with vertically-oriented fins. This design is far more effective than the lump-of-metal approach, utilizing the physics of convection and radiation to more effectively exchange heat with the surrounding air. The design of these mono amplifier
heat sinks was refined through extensive finite-element analysis, resulting in amplifiers that keep their cool under the most demanding conditions.
